Barry and his wife moved to Market Harborough in 2015 after spending many years raising their two children in a rural Northamptonshire village. They enjoyed living in the countryside but visited MH regularly and decided that we would love to move there should a suitable house become available.
Barry said, "Whilst living in Northamptonshire I spent 14 years as chair of my parish council and 8 years as ward member at Daventry District Council. However, I had to step down after crossing the county border!
Market Harborough is a great place to live with many opportunities and I want to ensure that Harborough District Council continues its good work in this area.
While at DDC I was involved in several committees including Scrutiny and grant applications. I also sat on the planning committee for 8 years and I am strong advocate of a fair and transparent planning system that delivers for the needs of residents but not at their expense. In short, appropriate development with a strong Local Plan to support it.
We can build a strong and vibrant community and I would like to help you achieve this."
