After receiving enquiries from some of his constituents who had concerns about the care of their relations at the Peaker Park Care Village in Market Harborough, Mr Garnier wrote in February to Leicestershire County Council asking for this issue to be looked in to. Following the publication of the Care Quality Commission report into the home last week, Mr Garnier said: ‘It is now clear that something wasn’t right at Peaker Park. All being well, now that the problems have been identified, the home’s management team can look towards providing the best possible service to their residents.”
Peaker Park was opened last summer by Prime Life Limited. The CQC report has been welcomed by Mr Garnier and he is optimistic that following its publication, changes will be made to improve the care village: “I know the owners of Prime Life so I am sure that they will put in the necessary effort to bring the standard of care to one that more than satisfies the CQC and my constituents.”
