Two weeks ago Edward Garnier MP for Harborough Oadby and Wigston, met with Helen West the Chief Executive and Jane Wilson the Board Chairwoman, of the Leicestershire and Rutland Probation Trust
The meeting provided an opportunity for Mr Garnier to hear about the excellent work which the Trust carries out. The Trust is one of 35 Probation Trusts in England and Wales but is only one of five Probation Trusts to be awarded the top five star status by the British Quality Foundation in recognition of its consistently high performance and innovative working practices. It works to supervise and manage offenders on probation whilst protecting them and communities from harm.
Edward Garnier said “I know how difficult it is to look after offenders either on community sentences or after release from prison, from my time as a Crown Court Recorder and Shadow Justice Minister. The Probation Trust faces huge financial and organisational change but I know that the Leicestershire and Rutland Probation Trust will rise to the challenge.”
