The amount people can earn before paying income tax - the personal allowance - will rise to £10,000 in April 2014.
People in Harborough, Oadby and Wigston will be over £700 better off after next April than they were before 2010 and almost three million more of the lowest paid will pay no income tax at all.
This tax cut will benefit an estimated 39,833 people in Harborough, Oadby and Wigston and 478 people will be lifted out of income tax altogether, taking the total number of people in Harborough, Oadby and Wigston lifted out of tax to an estimated 4,530.
Sir Edward Garnier, MP for Harborough, Oadby and Wigston commented: “This year’s Budget has delivered real support for people in my constituency. Nearly 40,000 people in my constituency will be over £700 better off every year as from next April.”
