Sir Edward Garnier, MP for Harborough, Oadby & Wigston has welcomed news that recorded crime in Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland has fallen once again over the last twelve months. Latest figures from the independent Office for National Statistics show that over the last three years recorded crime in the area has fallen by 25%.
Commenting, Edward Garnier said:
‘I am pleased to learn that crime continues to fall in Leicestershire. A combination of greater efficiencies, hard work and common sense, as well as dedicated police officers, led by the Chief Constable, Simon Cole and the PCC, Clive Loader, has been behind this good news. I congratulate them all and particularly welcome the return of Simon Cole to full time duty as Chief Constable following a period of ill health.”
