The Local Government Boundary Commission for England has begun an electoral review of Harborough District Council wards.
The review aims to deliver electoral arrangements for the district which achieve three statutory aims:
- To deliver electoral equality where each district councillor represents roughly the same number of electors as others across the district.
- That the pattern of wards should, as far as possible, reflect the interests and identities of the local communities.
- That the electoral arrangements should provide for effective and convenient local government.
Attached is a copy of the letter sent to the Corporate Directors of the Council, announcing the start of the electoral review, which also gives more information about the consultation and how local people and organisations can get involved.
