Sir Edward Garnier, MP for Harborough, Oadby and Wigston, has received the following update this morning from Mr Richard Hall, Public Affairs Manager at the Post Office, about Wigston Post Office. In his last update to Sir Edward last week, there was mention of a well-known retailer’s interest in opening in Wigston and incorporating the Post Office in their branch. The update confirms that the retailer has maintained its interest and is taking initial steps such as undertaking a survey on the site.
Edward Garnier said: “This update shows that there is a viable option for a new Post Office in Wigston and I hope the retailer’s enquiries are fruitful. I will continue to keep an eye on this matter and provide regular updates to my constituents.”

Meera, the retailer I mentioned in my last update has surveyors visiting the premises they have identified this week. They are planning how a Post Office could be incorporated alongside their retail layout. Once they have concluded this work we can progress discussions on the opportunity. I am hopeful we will have more news following the surveyors activity within the next week to 10 days and I will update you accordingly.

Richard
